Teaching reading with the genre comic strip, based on Text Linguistics

This article aims to present the re-elaboration of activity for the discipline of Portuguese Language involving interpretation through the genre strip that is in the textbook of Portuguese Language, the 7th grade in elementary school made available to the class during the 2020 school year. Our objective was to perform an analysis of the activity to, from this, propose a new interpretative perspective and also the expansion of it, taking into account the teaching of reading theorized in Text Linguistics (hereinafter LT). To substantiate this practice we used the theoretical contribution of Koch (2015; 2016) in the LT, to subsidize the proposed discussions; Schneuwly and Dolz (2004), Koch (2014), Köche and Marinello (2015) also contributed to the teaching of textual genres, Koch and Elias (2014) for work with reading. From the analysis performed and the qualitative research strategies, in considering the context of the students; and the (re)significance of the activity, through the elaborated expansion, we can say how pertinent it is to work with Text Linguistics in the classroom since it enhances and expands the reading and interpretation proposals present in textbooks.
