Dialogism and lexicocultural aspects in children’s and adolescent’s songs in Portuguese language teaching

Abstract

“Song” is a genre of speech that facilitates different skills: lexical learning, reading comprehension, authorship, and linguistic analysis. This work is based, on the one hand, on lexical studies, which allow the analysis of formal elements of the language and intra and extralinguistic elements (Barbosa, 2009), and on the other hand, on studies by the Bakhtin circle on human interaction, speech genres (Bakhtin [1979], 1997) and in studies on the teaching of song (Tatit, 1996; Tinhorão, 1998; Andrade, Baltar, Castro, 2021). Thus, by means of linguistic-lexical resources in working with songs, the general objective of this research is to describe how the artistic-literary sphere, specifically the discursive genre “song”, is contemplated in the textbooks of the initial years of Elementary Education at a private school in the city of São José do Rio Preto, state of São Paulo, and at a public school in Florianópolis, state of Santa Catarina. As specific objectives, based on this description, in order to bring out emotions, awaken feelings and give new meaning to Portuguese language classes, we intend to propose actions and sequences of activities for such work.
