Abstract
A preocupação fundamental do engenheiro na construção de uma carta é a obtenção da representação planialtimétrica do terreno que atenda às prescrições de acuracidade aplicáveis às finalidades da mesma. Esta preocupação deve se fazer presente em cada fase do mapeamento, de forma que não seja comprometido o produto final, ou ainda que o excesso de erro numa determinada etapa não force outra a tentar alcançar um resultado além de suas reais possibilidades.
Dentro desta ideia, procuraremos aqui estabelecer o processo para determinar as tolerâncias admissíveis na orientação absoluta, vale dizer no nivelamento e colocação em escala dos modelos estereoscópicos.
