Abstract

In this thematic section of Domínios da Linguagem, we welcome articles and research reports that address the theme of linguistic and/or cultural education mediated by digital technologies in a contemporary multipolar world. This dossier brings together a diverse and articulated set of research projects that investigate the relationships between language, education, and digital technologies at different educational levels, institutional contexts, and theoretical perspectives. In common, the works start from the recognition that contemporary linguistic practices are permeated by processes of digitization, platformization, and automation, demanding a critical, ethical, and socially committed approach from research in Literature, Linguistics, and Education.

Author Biographies

Kleber Aparecido da Silva, University of Brasília

Professor Associado 3 dos Cursos de Letras (Português do Brasil como Segunda Língua) e Relações Internacionais da Universidade de Brasília. Atua nos cursos de pós-graduação em Linguística e em Relações Internacionais da UnB. É bolsista em produtividade em pesquisa pelo CNPq. As suas áreas de interesse em pesquisa são: linguagem, decolonialidade, formação de professores/as e internacionalização, que também incluem gênero, raça e educação linguística; raça e colonialidade, linguagem, discurso e práticas identitárias; (multi)letramentos e educação crítica na formação de professores.
Leketi Makalela , University of the Witwatersrand

Leketi Makalela é Professor Associado na Wits School of Education, University of the Witwatersrand, África do Sul. É coordenador do Hub for Multilingual Educational and Literacies (HuMEL), na Wits University. É bolsista em produtividade em pesquisa na África do Sul. As suas áreas de pesquisa incluem translinguagem, multilinguismo africano, filosofia Ubuntu e letramentos africanos.
