Lauro Sérgio Machado Pereira, IFNMG

Lauro Sérgio Machado Pereira is a Ph.D. candidate in the Graduate Program of Linguistics (PPGL) at the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil. He also holds a master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the same university. At the Northern Minas Gerais Federal Institute (IFNMG), Brazil, he teaches English in Technical Courses Integrated into High School and develops research and service activities. He is certified in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) by Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in Alexandria, USA, because of his participation in the 1st edition of the SETEC-CAPES/NOVA Program of Brazilian English Teachers Continuing Education. He is a member of the Group for Critical and Advanced Studies in Languages (GECAL/UnB), coordinated by Professor Dr. Kleber Aparecido da Silva. His research interests include English language education, language teacher education, collaborative-critical action research, internationalization of education, language policy, and Critical Applied Linguistics.
