Visualização e Análise de Índice de Cintilação S4 por meio de Receptores Terrestres e Embarcados em Satélites LEO

Resumo
A rádio ocultação (RO) é uma técnica de sensoriamento remoto que explora a refração de sinais eletromagnéticos na atmosfera, permitindo sua investigação em diferentes camadas. No contexto deste trabalho, se baseou na refração dos sinais emitidos por satélites GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) e captados por satélites de baixa órbita (LEO – Low Earth Orbit). A técnica permite recuperar índices de refração que, por meio de processamentos e técnicas de inversão, fornecem parâmetros atmosféricos. A ionosfera, composta por partículas ionizadas e elétrons livres, afeta os sinais GNSS devido à refração proporcional ao TEC (Total Electron Content). Na região equatorial, a ionosfera apresenta TEC significativamente alto devido à Anomalia da Ionização Equatorial. Algumas irregularidades nesse meio também podem causar cintilação ionosférica, o que influencia na qualidade dos sinais GNSS. No Brasil, estações de monitoramento terrestre foram estabelecidas para monitorar a cintilação ionosférica, possuindo receptores GNSS que registram variações na amplitude e fase dos sinais. Nesse sentido, o principal objetivo deste trabalho consiste na exploração de dados de rádio ocultação mediante uso do índice de cintilação ionosférica S4, e sua validação a partir de dados provenientes de estações de monitoramento, localizadas na região equatorial. Os resultados das análises dos dados de RO-GNSS permitiram visualizar o comportamento das irregularidades ionosféricas, tanto em nível regional quanto global. Além disso, constatou-se uma compatibilidade com os dados de estações terrestres. Os valores de RMSE médio de S4 variaram entre 0,028 e 0,066, enquanto o erro relativo médio oscilou de 35,67% a 46,65%. Os menores erros ocorreram na estação POAL, situada em latitude média, evidenciando a influência da localização geográfica nas cintilações.
