A proposal for a taxonomy of monolingual dictionaries for Brazilian learners of FFL

In the teaching-learning scenario of foreign languages in Brazil, dictionaries are considered as a didactic material of support in the development of teaching practices. In this article, the objective is to present a proposal for a taxonomy of monolingual dictionaries available to learners of FFL, according to Bugueño's model (2014; 2015). This framework is an important factor in helping learners analyze and choose lexicographic works that may contribute to the development of their language activities. For this purpose, a taxonomy was elaborated based on functional and linguistic criteria that could focus on this category of dictionaries. The purpose of this proposal is to offer a tool that can help in the classification of dictionaries based on their formal characteristics, also considering the user profile and the function of the work.
