Abstract

The work aims to problematize and discuss the question of the reason for being of a Philosophy of Philosophy Teaching whose core revolves around the speeches of authors who, since the so-called “discursive turn around the teaching of philosophy”, present “studies on philosophical practice itself, its own definition and contours, in short, a metaphilosophy” (Von Zuben, apud Velasco, 2022a, p. 10-11, emphasis on the original), which demonstrate that “since metaphilosophical problems constitute the Teaching of Philosophy, the didactic-methodological-formative issues they can only be thought about and answered within the scope of Philosophy itself” (Velasco, 2022a, p. 11). With this in mind, the objective, therefore, is to ask about the possibility of a philosophical citizenship of philosophy teaching in which, based on its dialogue with other fields of knowledge – for example, the field of Philosophy of Education –, the Philosophy itself, as a field of study that can guarantee its teaching the right to the uniqueness and specificity of philosophizing itself, to focus on philosophizing and learning philosophy. To this end, in order to offer an introductory treatment for discussion, we will analyze three points: (1) Philosophy of Education and Philosophy of Philosophy Teaching: two distinct subareas?; (2) Philosophy of Philosophy Teaching, a concept; and (3) Philosophical Citizenship in Philosophy teaching.
