Author Biography

  • Vinícius Sanches Tizzo, Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais

    Father of Leonardo, Guilherme, and passionately in love with Amanda. Professor in the Department of Education and Language (DEL) at the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG) – Ituiutaba Unit, where he serves as department head during the 2022–2023 and 2024–2025 terms. Holds a PhD (2019) and a Master’s degree (2014) in Mathematics Education from the Graduate Program in Mathematics Education at São Paulo State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” – Unesp/IGCE, Rio Claro, SP. Graduated in Mathematics (2011) from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul – UFMS/CPAR, Paranaíba, MS.

    Member of the Oral History and Mathematics Education Research Group – Ghoem (www.ghoem.org) and of the Mathematics Education Research Center – NUPEm (www.nupem.facip.ufu.br). Research productivity grant holder under UEMG’s PQ Grant Program, Call No. 10/2022. Secretary of the Brazilian Society of Mathematics Education (SBEM) – Minas Gerais Regional Branch, for the 2022–2024 term. Member of the scientific committee of Working Group 15 – History of Mathematics Education – of SBEM. Parent representative on the Municipal School Food Council – CAE/Ituiutaba, for the 2022–2026 term.

    Reviewer for national and international journals and conferences on Mathematics Education. Executive director of the Boletim de Educação Matemática – Bolema from 2017 to 2019. Former Mathematics teacher in the São Paulo State Department of Education (2014–2015). Taught in the Municipal School Systems of Rio Claro – SP, Santa Gertrudes – SP, and in the SESI Education System in Rio Claro.

    Has experience in the field of Education, with emphasis on Mathematics Education, mainly in the following areas: Mathematics Education, Teacher Education, Oral History, Narratives, Educational Policies, Mathematics in Early Childhood Education and Elementary School, Basic Education, and Youth and Adult Education (EJA).
