The journal Educação e Políticas em Debate presents to the reader this issue, in which we disseminate the dossier “Public policies for early childhood education and the historical struggle for access and quality”, which portrays various angles of education in childhood. Although the approaches in this section focus predominantly on the Brazilian reality, we bring, in the editorial, fragments of the inhumane situation experienced by Palestinian children, to join the voices that call for an end to the conflict in Gaza and for the right to human dignity of the children of that territory. The articles that make up the dossier contribute with analyses on the importance of early childhood education and its priority role in the promotion of childhoods. Considering that many children have their childhood interrupted and are deprived of basic rights, it is fundamental to broaden the analyses on the evaluation of educational policies, the accountability of federated entities, educational indicators, and strategies that promote childhoods. In addition to the articles gathered in the dossier, this issue of Repod makes available articles in the “Continuous Demand” section, originating from various Brazilian regions, and features the collaboration of a Kenyan author and the co-authorship of a Mexican researcher, who contribute to Repod’s dialogues with African and Latin American countries.
