This work is based on the analysis of mother tongue transfers in texts of Spanish students. Ten essays were analyzed using the contrastive analysis method, in an attempt to explain the occurrence of the transfer and interlingual errors found. As theoretical support are the works of DURÃO (2004; 2007), INGMAR (2007), ANDRADE (2011). The aim of this research was to try to highlight the problems to achieve a writing closer to Spanish, departing, as far as possible, from the influence of Portuguese on student writing. Finally, the work intends to be a theoretical and practical support in order to assist students and teachers in the process of teaching and learning Spanish as a foreign language.
