Abstract

The objective of this work was to report the environmental educational practices developed by educators and students from the Advanced Class D. Pedro II, in the community of Sanharó, State of Bahia, Brazil and their results for the development of education in the municipal school system. This report was developed based on a descriptive study, with students from multigrade classes in the final years of Elementary School as participants. A qualitative approach was used in order to know, from the perspective of environmental education, the actions of individuals or groups in their own environment and social context. The qualitative approach was used in order to obtain a greater understanding of the community and the existence of these educational practices related to environmental education as an instrument for the emancipation of the subjects. As a result, it was identified that students and the community realized the power of actions carried out collectively and built new knowledge. However, the promotion of practices related to environmental education must be exercised by everyone, as the theme involves the entire society and goes beyond the school space. Therefore, it becomes necessary to spread these good practices everywhere, so that the goals are collectively achieved.
