This article aims at the application of the semiolinguistic theory in the analysis of a chronicle published in the journalistic scope. To do so, it reviews the fundamental concepts of this theory, mainly based on Charaudeau (2011, 2012). The study, then, performs an analysis from a textual genre that is quite present in everyday life, in order to demonstrate the applicability of the theoretical precepts proposed by the author. It is also shown that a well-directed reading is fundamental to escape the idea that all interpretations of a text are possible and, moreover, that the language manifestations imply interlocutors endowed with an intentionality and a coimaging created by the discourse.Downloads
