Abstract

Digital media, which are present in the daily lives of Brazilian youth, play a crucial role in shaping identities, defining social roles, and promoting new forms of sociability. These platforms can positively contribute to the personal and social development of young people, fostering interaction and the exchange of experiences. However, this same dynamic creates a favorable environment for the proliferation of phenomena such as cyberbullying, a form of intimidation and psychological violence that occurs in the virtual context. In light of this scenario, this article aims to investigate ways to address cyberbullying, particularly among children and adolescents, who are the most vulnerable to such practices. The article proposes a discussion that integrates digital literacy with the application of current legislation on the topic as a possible pathway to raise awareness and enhance young people's ability to respond to abusive situations in the digital environment.
