Abstract
Após um silêncio por demais prolongado que converteu o nosso país no maior "vácuo gravimétrico" do mundo, a Gravimetria nacional parece ter encontrado seu lugar ao Sol seja como instrumento geofísico seja como instrumento geodésico; pelo menos é o que se depreende das atividades que vêm sendo desenvolvidas em diferentes regiões do Brasil pela Petrobrás, Conselho Nacional de Geografia e Observatório Nacional.
Cremos, entretanto, que do ponto de vista geodésico impõe-se não somente a intensificação dos trabalhos de campo visando a ampliação da rede gravimétrica nacional mas, e principalmente, a redução dos elementos já levantados.
