Abstract
This visual essay is a selection of works produced during an artistic residency at the Sacatar Institute, on the island of Itaparica, Bahia, between August and November 2023. Being in the middle of the mangroves and the sea, and doing-with the tide, made me think about the spaces-in-between things, and imagine the island as a floating body that relates to other bodies in a fluid glide. In the midst of climate change, facing the announced ends of worlds, this thought extends and I find myself fantasizing that floating can be a form of resistance, a gesture of barrier. Surviving in the face of catastrophes through floating puts me in dialogue with the metamorphoses of a queer ecology, in which the transformations of a body present other ways of life.
