Abstract

To understand the magnitude and danger of deforming agents, such as the subsidence process, it is essential to identify and monitor them adequately. The GNSS is widely used to assess the overall panorama of these instabilities, whether through absolute positions or continuous measurements of points within the affected areas. Interferometric technique in a multi-temporal approach (MT-InSAR), such as PSInSAR, allows monitoring and detection of small variations on the ground caused by surface movements, such as landslides or subsidence. In this sense, the present manuscript sought to complement the results of a subsidence analysis using GPS observations carried out in a region of Guabirotuba, a neighborhood in the city of Curitiba - PR. This complementation was made through the PSInSAR processing of 77 descending SAR images from the Sentinel-1A satellite, acquired from 2016 to 2022. For comparison purposes, the velocities and displacements obtained with GPS were projected in the direction of the line of sight of the satellite of the master image used in the PSInSAR technique processing. As a result, it was observed that the GPS network stations implanted in Guabirotuba presented an extremely slow velocity when projected on the line-of-sight (LoS) of the satellite. The projection in LoS of the relative displacements of the coordinates (north, east, up) and velocities showed similar and divergent behaviors at some points when compared to the results obtained with the PSInSAR technique.
