Abstract
The accompaniment ofthe professional work market is important to organize information derived from data obtained from investigated samples. The methodology was based on questionnaires sent to the associate fellows of SBC. The data obtained from the replyed questionnaires were incorporated into the database of the market of Cartographic Engineering. The answers to the questions asked to the database gave rise to the information. The answers related to the first job relationship are important for the students, which will be in the work market soon. Current job information is of major interest to the professionals. The need of continuing formal education is easily perceived. The colleges have potential interest in such information from the first job, the current one and the professional improvement. It is demonstrated that the biggest employer is the federal public sector, that there is a migration from the private to the public sector, that both technical and administrative functions are accumulated as the professional experience increases, that the results of the graduate system are already seen in the market and that the average salary is around US$ 1,780.00 a month (US$1.00 = R$1,20).
