Abstract
A Sociedade Brasileira de Cartografia, fundada a 28 de outubro de 1958, na capital paulista, por deliberação unânime da I Reunião de Consulta sobre Cartografia, participante da Comissão Interestadual da Bacia do Paraná-Uruguai, ali reunida, tem promovido através dos anos o desenvolvimento do estudo e das pesquisas cartográficas, congregando os profissionais, os usuários e as entidades nacionais da Carta, e incrementado as relações e trocas de informações técnico-científicas com as congêneres estrangeiras.
