In this article, the aim is to understand the complex and multifaceted system that bilingual and emergent bilingual individuals use to learn an additional language. To this end, translanguaging pedagogy is presented as a creative resource employed by these bilingual subjects. The study is based on a corpus composed of narratives taken from a semi-structured interview conducted in 2021, during my master's research in applied linguistics. From a theoretical perspective, the notion of translanguaging pedagogy is mobilized, as well as complexity theory and complex systems. The findings indicate that additional language learning is a way of acting in the world, expanding possibilities for interaction, access to information, personal development, mobility, and the ability to influence and carry out actions in a global context.
