Abstract

Family farming has been the subject of intense debate, especially in relation to female participation and its economic and social impact. Despite progress, women still do not receive due recognition for their contributions to this sector. Therefore, it is essential to carry out studies that analyze and better understand the role of women in agriculture, recognizing them as active agents in the process. The objective of this study is to investigate the entrepreneurial characteristic of women in rural areas of São João del-Rei, considering the territorial context and gander dynamics. With an approach that combines exploratory descriptive, and explanatory research, the objective is to provide a more accurate view of women’s work in family farming in São João del-Rei, emphasizing the relevance, recognition, and appreciation of their contributions.
