Abstract

The Brazilian Eletronic Journal of Mathematics (BEJOM) is a vehicle of the Mathematics Course of the Institute of Natural Sciences of Pontal, of the Federal University of Uberlândia, of registration and scientific dissemination that aims to publish final or partial results of relevant research and / or area / subarea summaries (surveys) and / or reviews in the areas of education, statistics, pure and applied mathematics.

The Editorial Board of the BEJOM journal is pleased to make available the first volume, whose articles seek to discuss research in the areas of Mathematics Education and Applied Mathematics. In this edition we have eight articles that harmonize with the Editorial Board's proposal. All these productions invite us to embark on the areas of Mathematics, highlighting fundamental points in relation to objects of knowledge and didactic and pedagogical practices, which aim to expand and enhance Mathematics.

The present volume counted on the collaboration of researchers engaged in this debate whose disposition and professionalism were remarkable. We reiterate our satisfaction in contributing to the dissemination of works in the field of Mathematical Education and Applied Mathematics. We thank our collaborators for their contribution with research and reflections and wish everyone a good reading.
