Abstract

In the text "The Work as Metacorpse", Cecile Croce presents a semiological analysis of Eliane Chiron's works, emphasizing their significant contributions by examining the interplay between color, material, and image. The author introduces the perspective of a vital economy in which we are shaped by the surrounding environment, and what becomes "infused" within us lends substance to our perception, notably through color. Focusing on Eliane Chiron's piece "The Swimmers”, she underscores how these figures seemingly infuse light into color through their movements, imbuing a vibrant red as it courses through their veins and flesh. These reflections broaden our comprehension of the interconnection among color, material, body, and art. Her ideas lay the groundwork for new aesthetic and philosophical contemplations, prompting inquiries into the boundaries and possibilities of artistic expression, as well as our own experience as spectators.
