Abstract

An amusement park for art. Following this idea, the exhibition “Orlândia” was inaugurated, in Rio de Janeiro. In a house that was undergoing renovations, was built an experimentation laboratory, an ephemeral and festive exhibition. Far from following exhibition rules, “Orlândia” brought together dozens of artists. This article tells the story of the invention of this exhibition, which would then unfold into two other editions, involving around 140 artists. More than an “Artists' Dineylândia”, Orlândia is related to other actions that took place in the period that, together, became important means of expansion of the independent art circuit.
