REVIEW PROCESS of the manuscript

1st) Regarding form and policy of plagiarism:

  1. The manuscripts submitted to Revista Educação e Políticas em Debate (REPOD) are received by the Editorial Committee, which performs an analysis of the adequacy to the focus/scope of the journal and compliance with technical standards and formatting, according to the template available for each section.
  2. All the submitted manuscripts undergo an anti-plagiarism program before being forwarded to the ad hoc referees. Further information: refer to POLICY OF IDENTIFICATION OF PLAGIARISM AND SELF-PLAGIARISM

2nd) Regarding Merit:

  1. REPOD adopts the system of anonymous evaluation, with blind peer review. If the manuscript meets the criteria established by the editorial policy of the journal and its norms, it will be sent to two external ad hoc referees, with production related to the theme, to be evaluated regarding merit. The names of the referees are kept secret and revealed only in the annual list of referees.
  2. The referees have one week (seven days) to express availability or refusal to evaluate the manuscript and, in case of acceptance, will have three (3) weeks (21 days) to evaluate and send the opinion according to the form (model - evaluation form) of the journal. If the evaluator is not available, the editors will forward the manuscript to a next evaluator, until two evaluators are available.
  3. The referees may recommend: acceptance, refusal, or suggest reformulations of the manuscript. In case of acceptance with reformulations, the manuscript will return to the referees for a final review.
  4. When the two referees reject the paper, the manuscript is returned to the author with the presentation of the explanatory statement in the form of an editorial opinion and is also archived in the REPOD system. In case of divergence between the two first referees, the manuscript will be forwarded to a third referee.
  5. After the completion of the work of the ad hoc referees, the members of the Editorial Board of the journal (for manuscripts of continuous demand) and the dossier organizers will decide on the relevance of the publication in the Journal and will prepare an opinion to be forwarded to the author who submitted the text, informing him/her of the editorial decision.
  6. If the manuscript is accepted, the author(s) will have up to 21 days to send, via the journal submission system, the final version of the manuscript with the revisions recommended by the reviewers. The process of submission, reviewing and communication of the submitted manuscripts occur through the electronic system of the journal (OJS).
