Brasil Desenvolve seus Primeiros Satélites

Abstract
Atualmente o Brasil é um dos poucos países que possuem, ou estão em vias de possuir satélites de aplicação, graças a recente aprovação dada pelo Governo Federal para o projeto, construção, qualificação, lançamento e operação em órbita dos primeiros satélites experimentais brasileiros.
Dentro desse programa – denominado Missão Espacial Completa Brasileira – caberá ao Instituto de Pesquisas Espaciais – INPE, órgão vinculado ao Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico – CNPq, a responsabilidade pelo desenvolvimento dos satélites e estações de solo correspondentes. Por outro lado, a implementação do Veículo Lançador de Satélites – VLS e a construção da base de lançamento em Alcântara, no Maranhão, estão a cargo do Instituto de Atividades Espaciais – IAE, do Centro Técnico Aeroespacial – CTA, que por sua vez está ligado ao Ministério da Aeronáutica.
