Abstract
Neste número estão retratados os importantes momentos vividos, neste ano, por nossa jubilosa instituição; o "Dia do Cartógrafo" com a entrega das Comendas da Ordem do Mérito Cartográfico, o XI Congresso Brasileiro de Cartografia, as comemorações do jubileu de Prata, além dos artigos técnicos, das seções informativas e do convite para o XV Congresso Internacional de Fotogrametria e Sensoriamento Remoto. Entretanto, é a matéria de capa, a que mais alegrias nos deu, e que recebemos como um verdadeiro presente de aniversário, ansiosamente aguardado, e que legitima a nossa atuação: a Utilidade Pública Federal.
