Abstract

Peasant women from the Juncal settlement, in Naviraí/MS, created Amaju (association of women from the Juncal settlement). In Amaju, women prepare a variety of products (breads, sweets, cookies, handicrafts, among others). The products are sold on the local and institutional market, which contributes to the generation of income and the autonomy of the associated women. Women also develop production for self-consumption linked to reproductive work. Although organized on an economic basis, Amaju constitutes an important channel for the participation of women with consequences for gender, politics, etc.
