Abstract

The research seeks to understand non-agricultural work among peasants. For analysis, the Terra de Areia community, located in the municipality of Mojuí dos Campos, in the Lower Amazon region of Pará, was selected. The decision for this community is due to the profound territorial and institutional changes in the face of the advance of soybean agribusiness and the process of restructuring the regional urban fabric. An interdisciplinary approach and the adoption of qualitative and quantitative methods are adopted. From the field research, it was found that peasant families that engage in non-agricultural activities have restrictions on land, work or both.
