Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the potential of Cuiabá region as a locus for the performance of field didactic activities aimed at teaching Physical Geography. The methodological orientation adopted is the perspective of Geodiversity, from which the interpretation of the landscape was made throughout a field script, chosen with the aim of proceeding to the analysis. The didactic activities were carried out with students of the Bachelor's Geography course at the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, Cuiabá campus. The analysis of the script showed that the region of Cuiabá has relevant physiographic elements to the teaching of Physical Geography; and indicates that the proposition of didactic scripts in the region is supported both in regional geodiversity and in the ease of access to representative places of this in didactic terms. The approach focused on the concept of Geodiversity proved to be effective for the approach of themes in the field of environmental education, especially due to the bias of geoconservation. Thus, the present study contributes with subsidies to the planning of field activities in the region.
