This article aims to present a comparative analysis of the largest forest fires recorded in the ESEC Taim since its designation as a Conservation Unit. The work uses satellite images to identify areas affected by forest fires and applies the NDVI method to evaluate them. It also analyzes climatic conditions through precipitation, identifies precipitation anomalies over the last 22 years, considering the months, and seasons when fires occurred. The results showed that, in 2008, 51.22% of the total burned area was in Taim; in 2013, this figure was 65.47%; and in 2022, it was 98.52%. Regarding precipitation anomalies, all months and seasons in which forest fires occurred recorded negative anomalies. Among these months, December 2022 recorded the highest negative value. Regarding the seasons, summer 2008 recorded the greatest negative precipitation anomaly. It was found that all these phenomena were linked to La Niña and positive SAM, which made droughts possible and consequently encouraged burning in the region.
