Currently, flooding, although short and quick events, tends to be more frequent. The Federal District is affected every year by flooding, causing a variety of negative impacts such as material and environmental damage and loss of life. Therefore, the purpose of the article was to update a (non-official) database and demonstrate the possibilities for using citizen data. As a result, it was observed that in the update period (04/2013 to 12/2020) there was an increase of more than 50% in notifications in relation to the previously registered period (01/1999-03/2013). As this is spatialized data, it was possible to quantify and identify the most reported administrative regions, blocks and roads. Therefore, almost 60% of notifications (1999-2020) are associated with the road system, 44% on Av. W3 and 17% on Av. L2. Corroborating the aforementioned information, when mentioned, it was possible to quantify the main damages caused by flooding, indicating that 40% are associated with vehicles. From spatial analyzes it was possible to verify the proximity of flooding notifications to public facilities. Finally, despite being unofficial data, it is possible to extract relevant information that can be applied to urban planning.
