DINÂMICA DA PAISAGEM NO ENTORNO DA RESEX MARINHA DE SÃO JOÃO DA PONTA/PA: UTILIZAÇÃO DE MÉTRICAS E GEOPROCESSAMENTO

Abstract

The main importance of the buffer zone in Protected Areas is the protection of the unit and its surroundings in the management of natural resources, in order to reduce the pressure that human activities exert on the unit.  The ZA of the RESEX Marinha de São João da Ponta this pressure is mainly related to the growth of agriculture and the expansion of the urban area, to the detriment of the reduction of vegetation areas (dense alluvial forest and mangrove). The objective of this study was to evaluate the dynamics of the landscape based on the multitemporal evaluation of land use and land cover, afterwards applying landscape metrics to understand its structure. It was verified through the landscape metrics related to area (CA) and (PP) and size (NP) and (MPS) indexes that mainly vegetation fragments smaller than ten hectares (> 10ha) are more prone to shredding and loss of connectivity, that is, they are priority areas for the public policies of environmental protection, these smaller fragments suffer more pressure from agriculture, observed from remote sensing data. Result of this discussion, it is proposed as an action the development of the Orbital Monitoring of Damping Zones in Conservation Units (MOZAUC).
