PREENCHENDO LACUNAS DE DADOS EM ESTUDOS CLIMÁTICOS URBANOS: O POTENCIAL DE UM ABRIGO METEOROLÓGICO DE BAIXO CUSTO

Resumo

As mudanças climáticas e a rápida urbanização estão intensificando fenômenos como as Ilhas de Calor Urbanas (ICUs) e agravando problemas relacionados à qualidade do ar, disponibilidade de água e saúde pública. A substituição por infraestrutura construída altera a dinâmica climática, enquanto o aquecimento global intensifica eventos extremos, aumentando a vulnerabilidade. Em consonância com o Objetivo do Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) 11, que visa tornar as cidades inclusivas, resilientes e sustentáveis, compreender os microclimas urbanos é essencial para o desenvolvimento de estratégias eficazes de adaptação. Dados meteorológicos confiáveis são escassos em países em desenvolvimento, devido a redes de monitoramento limitadas, custos elevados e restrições de infraestrutura. Esse estudo desenvolveu e validou um abrigo meteorológico de baixo custo, utilizando materiais acessíveis e em conformidade com as diretrizes da Organização Meteorológica Mundial (OMM). Testes de campo realizados em condições reais confirmaram sua confiabilidade para medições de temperatura do ar próxima à superfície. Sua acessibilidade e facilidade de replicação o tornam uma solução viável para instituições com recursos limitados, contribuindo para a democratização dos dados climáticos. Além de aplicações em estudos de ICUs, a solução proposta apresenta potencial para uso em avaliações agroclimáticas, modelagem hidrometeorológica e previsão ambiental, com durabilidade adequada a climas tropicais.

Doutora em Ciências pelo programa de Pós Graduação em Ensino e História das Ciências da Terra - Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP).
