Abstract

This article reflects on the resonance of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the creative processes of three artists in training in visual arts at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving, La Esmeralda located in the southern area of Mexico City. Based on the author's teaching experience, the challenges and opportunities of pedagogical work in artistic training in adverse and confining times will be exposed. It will be explored the introspective creation atmospheres of the three artists with the intention of making visible their creative processes, bringing analysis of the concepts of vulnerability, trace and memory present in the intimate self-referential narratives developed in search of an understanding of their family history to comprehend their place in the world, creating visual accounts of a crude realism from the fictionalized perspective of their history.
