Abstract

This text seeks to reflect on other possibilities for writing and producing knowledge in the academic world, understanding that it is no longer possible to continue reproducing standardized writing methods, given the inefficiency of this hegemonic project established within the academy. In this way, aiming to reach new perspectives, we highlight the potential of the academic essay, thinking of it as a powerful counter-hegemonic alternative to overcome the dominant logics that continue to condition standardized logic in academic writing. Therefore, we believe that the essay as an act of stripping allows us to widen the margins of experience, mobilizing connections with ourselves and others around us, as well as constituting other academic experiences, reinventing research, writing, and above all, the researcher.

  • Marciano Antonio da Silva, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

    PhD student in Education, Federal University of Pernambuco, State of Pernambuco, Brazil, with a sandwich period at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; teacher of basic education in the municipal education network of Belo Jardim, State of Pernambuco, Brazil; researcher at the Research Group on Social Movements, Education and Diversity in Latin America (CNPq) and member of the extension project "Observatory of Social Movements in Latin America".
