“Árvore Querida” is a project that has began in 2017 and this year is developed through a partnership with the UFU Polo Rede Arte na Escola. The project takes place at the Municipal School Professor Domingos Pimentel de Ulhôa with the 3rd and 4th Years of Elementary Education and aims the development of strategies that supports the didactic reflection of different artistic expressions, deconstructing stereotypes and standardized ways of perceiving the surroundings, expanding and sensitizing the student gaze. The study object is the Tree, which we entwine research possibilities, reflections, questions and observation focusing on the trees surrounding the school, as well as the trees of the students houses and their memories. In this way, through practical and theoretical learning, it's clear that the progress of this project expands the perception both of the students and that of the mediator, who expand their knowledge about the process of didactic research and creation in Art. Therefore, artists and works on the theme were selected, such as Traveling Artists from the 16th century, botanical illustrators like Margaret Mee, Frans Krajcberg, Yoko Ono, Marilá Dardot and Cinthia Marcelle amonst other contemporary artists.
