The effective implementation of inclusion in Higher Education in Health evaluates legal compliance and addresses the methodological unpreparedness of institutions, highlighting the urgent need for faculty professional development. Within this context, this experience report analyzes the pedagogical transformation experienced during training in Special Education and Specialized Educational Services. Grounded in inclusive education frameworks, forums, and critical readings, the training fostered the deconstruction of the medical model of disability and addressed the challenges of academic practice. The analysis of inclusion, considering attitudinal and pedagogical barriers, demonstrates educators’unpreparedness regarding each student's specific needs. The experience shows that teaching requires recognizing diversity and implementing flexible instructional practices; it is the institution's responsibility to accommodate the student. Investment in faculty development is established as the pillar to align healthcare's technical rigor with respect for individualities, transforming the university into an ethical environment of belonging, retention, and unrestricted student success.
