The lack of access to water and sanitation is part of the historical injustices of water that affect the populations of La Montaña de Guerrero. Since 1992, the public policies of the Mexican State had neglected rural communities due to neglect or omission to implement the privatization of water resources. Meanwhile, they still manage their own resources through community and co-partnership systems. It is not just a matter of water supply systems, but of a complex system where water articulates all community life. In this work we offer the regional results of the management of community water systems in communities of the Lower Montaña of Guerrero. We identify traditional or vernacular hydrosocial lands based on two types of relationship: collaboration and conflict. We describe the main problems and challenges faced by traditional hydrosocial lands. And we also show the networks of collaboration and conflict that emerged as an area of opportunity to confront water injustices.Downloads
