This article show the relationships between anthropology, ethnography and field diaries based on the work “Diáro de Campo: antropologia como alegoria” (1982), wrote by the anthropologist and educator Carlos Rodrigues Brandão. In this book, the author collects poetic fragments from various field investigations throughout his academic career, as poetry is a matter of ethnographic language. The poems presented in this field diary express the relationships between the researcher and the field of investigation, between people, landscapes and objects, which animate the ethnographic situation, when sensations and emotions go beyond the formal anthropological text, finding a spontaneous outlet in poetry. Consider that this book is a treatise on poetic geoanthropology, a concept created by Brandão and developed in his classes, and which is taken up in the present reflection on the possibilities of ethnographic writing and the intersections and effects of anthropological investigation during the fieldwork.
