Abstract

It is assumed that environmental injustice in the Brazilian interior is inherent to the development of the Brazilian agrarian issue, which currently manifests itself by agribusiness territorialization. Environmental injustice comprises the condition of people’s expropriation, denied access to natural goods, the imposition of environmental risks and the cultural non-recognition of the populations that r-exist in their historical territories. In this context, the general aim of this study is to highlight the potential of ecological struggles in the Brazilian interior in the face of environmental injustice. The study adopts the molds of a theoretical-bibliographic research of a qualitative nature within the Agrarian Geography and Socioenvironmental Geography field. It can be concluded that ecological struggles in the Brazilian interior are emancipatory struggles, struggles for the common and struggles for environmental justice, made by different social groups that resist and r-exist in their territories and establish themselves as a defense of life in the face of the capital expropriation logic.
