Economía campesina y resistencia territorial en el asentamiento de Chico Mendes - PE / Brasil

Abstract

This article is the result of the international project 'Between the consolidation and decomposition of peasant economies. A comparative reading of the experiences of Brazil and Colombia. In that first stage, we sought to study the productive units Chico Mendes - PE rural settlement from the theoretical perspective of the Peasant Economy. To obtain the results we use the MESMIS methodology (Framework for evaluation of Natural Resource Management Systems Incorporating Sustainability Indicators) together with the research-participant Brandão (2007). Based on these methodologies, we can verify the market access strategies used by the residents of the Chico Mendes rural settlement and how they reflect territorial resistance.
