Abstract

Basic sanitation is a set of essential public services for human health and the life quality in cities: urban cleaning, solid waste disposal and rainwater drainage. This article deals with rainwater sanitation in Belo Horizonte, where floods occur every year, causing social and economic losses. With a focus on solving this problem, a multicriteria geoprocessing analysis was carried out, with the objective of presenting a priority areas map for the implementation of the areas of Green Connection and Deep Vale Connection - strategies of the new Master Plan of the city in search of minimizing the flash floods occurrences and their negative impacts in Belo Horizonte.

Graduated in Forestry Engineering at the University of Brasília, post graduated in Environmental Licensing at Faculdades AVM Integradas, Master's student at the Post-Graduate Program in Regional Development and Environment – ​​PPGDRMA at the State University of Minas Gerais. Passos, Minas Gerais. She has worked since 2014 at the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development of the State of Minas Gerais as an environmental manager in the analysis of environmental licensing.

Mestranda bolsista do Programa de Pós-graduação em Desenvolvimento Regional e Meio Ambiente da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG). Doctor and Master in Urban Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos. Worked as a Consultant at SEBRAE-SP (2005-2009). He was a professor of higher education at the União das Faculdades dos Grandes Lagos (2008-2019), assuming the Coordination of the Civil Engineering Course 2011 - 2019 and Production Engineering in 2012-2019. Professor at the State University of Minas Gerais/UEMG since 2018, and permanent member of the Professional Masters in Regional Development and Environment at the State University of Minas Gerais and Coordinator and permanent member of the Masters in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation/Network PROFNIT UEMG. It works in the areas of Urban Planning, Urban and Regional Planning and Urban Engineering and Technology and Innovation Management, on topics related to: urban development and city production, urban policy, housing policy and the housing subsystems of social and market interest, and innovation. From 2017 to 2019, she carried out a post-doctoral internship at the Institute of Economics of the State University of Campinas/UNICAMP, with research aimed at the Financialization of housing in the post-2008 global crisis.
