Abstract

The text aims to present a methodology for the analysis of urban interventions that have been taking place in part of Rebouças District, in Curitiba. To meet this target, it points to actions that enable the preservation of its former industrial-railway nucleus, associated with urban development. Therefore, different interpretative elements are used - geography, architecture and urbanism, sociology and history - applying rigor to the use of reference concepts in the analyses. The clear definition of the terminologies that characterize the interventions and the analysis by scales, adopted in the development of the method, reveals the game of interest involving public and private agents that produce urban space, the changes induced by law, and their effects on the real space. The analyses are accompanied by maps resulting from on-the-spot surveys and documentary research, which make up a diagnosis, allowing the establishment of criteria for preservation, without affecting urban development.
