Abstract

The research is a study about the relationship and the harmony of interests between chicken farming, pig farmers and the integrated agroindustry, in the case of Rezende Alimentos, recently bought by Sadia Group, having the industrial complex installed in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Various companies, some transnationals, have been installed in the region of Triângulo Mineiro/Alto Paranaíba, establishing contracts with producers of milk, tomatoes, sweetcorn, peas, swine, chicken farming and soy. The research was conducted by means of interviews with integrated agriculturalists, representatives of the integrated company and political leaders of the rural section of the region. Preliminary data reveal the predominance, between integrated parts, medium and great producers, who are directing production activities in a business-like-way using hired workers. This configuration presents, according to the new standards of accumulation in this present phase of capitalist restructuring, in which the industries classify advantages in scale and rapidity in the incorporation of technological innovations in the producing systems. Besides, these agriculturalists have other sources of income, which give, them power to negociate with the integrated industries. For the reason that, in the middle of the question there is a possible paradox between integrated rural production, the way in which, it was established and the accumulation agroindustrial models, revealing the possibility of real gain for the producers facing the integrated agroindustry, through political action.
