The mapping analysis was supported by satellite images, photointerpretation and systematic observations carried out in the field. The results indicate that 224.7 km² of the municipality of Jacobina is susceptible to flooding (10.2% of the municipal territory), with 41.8% high susceptibility, 41% medium susceptibility, and 17.2% low susceptibility. It is stated that the effective implementation of the Municipal Master Plan, with an emphasis on susceptibility and risk áreas, are pillars for sustainable environmental development.
