This study aims to identify Cultural Ecosystem Services (CESs) and their associated benefits in the Corno alle Scale Regional Park, located in Lizzano in Belvedere, Italy. The following procedures were undertaken bibliographic and documentary survey, field research, interviews, identification of CESs, and analysis of information. The Park, located in the Bolognese Apennines, protects a natural, historical, and cultural heritage that provides multiple benefits for both visitors and residents of medieval villages within the Protected Area. Seven Cultural Services were identified in the park: cultural diversity; landscape, aesthetic, spiritual, and inspirational values; tourism; recreation and leisure; sports and physical activities; and scientific and educational values. Natural aspects, such as mountainous relief, beech forests, biodiversity, and watercourses, are essential in delivering intangible benefits to local communities and visitors. However, in the context of climate change, several threats jeopardize the supply of these services, including the production of artificial snow and the installation of cable cars, which negatively impact the soil, water resources, and biodiversity. To safeguard natural resources and sustain CESs, urgent strategies are needed to promote more sustainable tourism practices that align with local and regional potential.
