Resumo

 Geography is a science that includes different perspectives about the environmental concept. The general objective of this study is to analyze the concepts of environment used by Brazilian geographers. Our approach included semi-structured interviews applied to
Brazilian geographers dealing with the environmental. The Method of Content Analysis was used to enable analyzes by grouping the respondents into different categories. This research revealed current results stating diverse Brazilian geographers’ viewpoints regarding the concept of environment. Such a concept fits into four different geographical thinking such as classical, quantitative, critical and contemporary.
