The present article deals with a cut of the dissertation entitled "From Oxumaré to the Rose of Sarom: the religious influence in the replacement of the street names of the Jardim Sucupira Loteamento in Feira de Santana - BA". In this article we aim to present the phenomena that occurred in the toponymic signs of the streets of Loteamento Jardim Sucupira, in Feira de Santana-BA, and their effects. This subdivision is the bearer of the lexical ensemble with fifteen street names with the last one divided between the Banto, Yoruba and Fon languages, constituting our corpus, collected in Google maps and in the Telecommunications catalog of Bahia SA -Telebahia, which presents the phenomenon of opacity, with more recurrence, and the phenomenon of fossilization. In the development of this article we resorted to the study by Carvalhinhos and Antunes (2007), which deals with the phenomena of the toponymic sign, as well as the collaboration of toponymist Dick (1990) on opacity and fossilization that occurred in toponyms.
