Abstract
In this theoretical-visual essay, the understanding of the feminine - in its perception as lack and silence - from the literature of Marguerite Duras comes into relation with spatial reflections and images taken during a period of research in France. With Duras' literary and cinematographic work as a starting point, especially the script for the film “Hiroshima meu amor” and the city of Nevers, the realization of visual works appears in the course of their literary places, considering local aspects, elements of overlap between reality and fiction and an idea of reconstructing the place from experience. Visuality and literature become different ways of experiencing both a text and a place.
